Who is the MJLH?

The McGill Journal of Law and Health (MJLH) | Revue de droit et santé de McGill (RDSM) is a peer-reviewed, bilingual, student-run academic journal housed by the McGill University Faculty of Law. Since its founding in 2007, the Journal has provided a leading platform for the study of issues at the intersection of law, health, and policy, welcoming contributions that inform both scholarly debate and practical application to law and health.

Reflecting McGill’s transsystemic and interdisciplinary approach to legal education, the MJLH publishes work that draws on both civil and common law traditions and engages with disciplines beyond law, including medicine, ethics, public health, and technology. The Journal seeks to advance rigorous and balanced analysis of issues such as medical decision-making, health regulation, biotechnology, intellectual property, and professional responsibility, while highlighting their broader social and policy implications.

Committed to open-access principles, the MJLH makes all of its publications freely available online, ensuring accessibility for academics, practitioners, policymakers, and the general public. Its issues are also indexed in Quicklaw, WestlawNext, HeinOnline, CAIJ, and CanLII, and available in print across major law libraries in North America.

Through its publications, events, and collaborations, the MJLH continues to foster informed discussion on the evolving relationship between law and health, and to support the incoming scholars and advocates shaping this field. Each volume and online publication reflects the dedication of a collaborative editorial team committed to academic excellence, professional development, and public engagement in health law.
